Loy Krathong - 16 November 2007
The Siamese celebrate the Loy Krathong festival as thanksgiving to the Goddess of Water for providing water to sustain their livelihood. The people of Thai descent in Kelantan celebrate this festival with cultural performances, float parades and other programmes. Buddhist from the whole country, as well as visitors are invited to partake in this colourful festival. Venue: Tumpat, Kelantan

Deepavali Celebration and Open House  (8 November 2007)
Deepavali (Diwali) or the 'Festival of Lights' is celebrated by Hindus in the seventh month of the Hindu calendar. The festival is celebrated in recognition of the triumph of good over evil. Prayers are held at temples throughout the country. Many Hindus invite friends and relatives to their homes.

Tamu Besar Kota Belud 2007 - 27 - 28 October 2007 
Kota Belud has a population of 60,000 people, comprising the ethnic groups of Bajau, Kadazan, Irranun, Obian and Chinese. The cultural diversity is seen and experienced during the locally known 'Tamu' or Sunday market. In this annual "Tamu Besar" (Sunday market), Bajau Horsemen, hailed as the 'Cowboys of the east', come out decked in their traditional finery and ride their beautifully decorated ponies to display their legendary horsemanship.  Venue: Kota Belud, Sabah; Website: www.sabahtourism.com
